Growing demand for connectivity in CISP's Ohio data center has warranted making the upgrade from an OC-48 SONET ring (2.5 Gbit/sec) to an OC-192 SONET ring (10-Gbit/sec). Even though the OC-48 local transport ring has served CISP and its customers well, the OC-192 ring offers increased capacity, making it the obvious solution.

In the end, it comes down to maintaining the necessary bandwidth to meet our capacity demands while simultaneously remaining cost-effective for our clientele. This upgrade has allowed retention of our incredible uptime and the ability to add additional connectivity as needed.
